The 0.6 hectare (1.48 acre) site is situated on East Grinstead Road and is currently occupied by the former Orchard Court Care Home.

The former Orchard Court Care Home is an outdated building from the late 1960s that lacks the facilities many people now need and expect (many of the rooms are small and lack en-suite bathrooms) and is unsuitable for conversion to meet the latest Care Quality standards. These proposals will re-purpose this site to provide high-quality accommodation that supports older people to live as independently as possible.
